The Canadian Rockies - 2009

The following paintings were completed on location during an autumn trip to revisit many of my favorite places in the Canadian Rockies.  Also attached are links to a selection of video clips showing the process of watercolour painting directly from nature.  Many thanks to the good folks at the Num-Ti-Jah Lodge who made us feel welcome and comfortable after long days working in all the elements.  Also, thanks to Daisy Gilardini for video and photography.  (To see more photos from this trip visit Daisy's blog.)

The following images are new studio paintings that are part of a large body of work I am doing in the Polar regions.  In late December 2009, I will returning to Antarctica as well as the spectacular scenery of South Georgia.
